    City Hall
    Opened in 1992, Edmonton's City Hall combines modern architecture with elements from the old City Hall it replaced (built in the '50s). Features include a glass pyramid top as well as a soaring friendship tower that has a 40,000-pound, 23-bell carillon that can play up to 99 melodies. An expansive collection of art by Alberta artists is on display, and visitors are welcome at the many activities held here. Enjoy a dip in the wading pool on a hot summer day, or go skating during the winter. Public areas open wkdys 7 am - 10 pm, Sat 9 am - 5 pm, Sun & holidays 11 am - 5 pm.     Alberta Legislature Building
    Surrounded by 57 acres of parkland, this beautiful building is a must see for those interested in architecture, politics and history. Completed in 1912 on the site of the original Fort Edmonton, the building features an interpretive centre and gift shop. Winter hours (Oct 16 to April 30) Mon to Fri 9 am – 4:30 pm, tours on the hour from 9 am – 3 pm; Sat, Sun & hols 9 am – 5 pm, tours on the hour from noon – 4 pm. Free admission and guided tours.
