Canada’s largest telephone museum features hands on and interactive displays recounting the history of the telephone from 1885 to present. Admission $2 donation. Tue to Fri 10 am - 3 pm; closed Sat. Sun & Mon.

This museum traces the history of Alberta’s Ukrainian pioneers with exhibits of traditional apparel, musical instruments, costumes, currency, artifacts and folk art. Admission by donation. Tue to Fri 10 am - 5 pm; Sat noon - 5 pm.

Join in celebrating the“Spirit of the Machine.” This outstanding collection of vintage vehicles, aircraft, tractors and industrial machines pays tribute to mechanical genius. Enjoy their display galleries, watch museum-quality restoration in progress or attend one of the many special events. Also home to Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame.

Relive Edmonton’s rich aviation history in the museum hangar at the city centre airport. Inspect the collection of vintage planes dating back to the 1920s, including aircraft from early commercial and bush flying eras. Aviation Gift Shop on site. $7 adult, $5 sen, $4 youth (13-17), $3 child, $20 family, free for children 5 and under. Mon to Fri 10 am to 6 pm; Sat and Sun 10 am - 4 pm.

The museum features exhibits portraying Strathcona County’s natural and human history. Call for hours and admission.

The three original homes of early Edmonton entrepreneur John Walter are on display, featuring a number of free Sunday activities such as old-fashioned games, bread-making on a woodstove, and fun, games and lemonade.

Two galleries dedicated to the history of Edmonton’s own infantry regiment as well as other units and military service from Central and Northern Alberta. Featuring pictures, documents and artifacts depicting all aspects of recruiting, training and overseas service. Admission by donation. Tue to Fri 10 am - 4 pm.

More than one hundred years of railroading in the west are reflected in over 50 major artifacts ranging from freight equipment,passenger cars and locomotives to an authentic railway station. Displays illustrate the Morse telegraph system, maintenance-of-way equipment and a work train. On Canadian holiday long-weekends you are invited to hop aboard a steam or diesel train for a nostalgic trip. Operating hours: 10am to 5pm, 7 days a week, from Victoria Day weekend in May until Labor Day weekend in September. Admission: $5 adults, $3.50 student/snr, $2 children (ages 3-12), train rides $4, speeder rides $1.

Visitors to the museum can relive those first exciting days when the steam engines first arrived in Strathcona, bringing thousands of settlers to the area. The museum is a replica of the original station which served the community from 1891-1907 and features numerous railway and station artifacts as well as an extensive historic photograph collection. Summer hours (Jun thru Aug) Tues - Sun 10 am - 4 pm. Winter hours (Labor Day to May 31): by appointment only. Admission: suggested donation of $2 per person.

Housed in historic McKay Avenue School, a Provincial Historic Resource and the site of the first session of the Alberta Legislature in 1906, the museum includes a 1920s classroom, a 1950s classroom and the restored legislative Chamber. Archival holdings date from 1881. Edmonton’s first public school, built in 1881, is also on site. Free admission. Winter (Sept - May)hours: Tue - Fri 12:30 pm - 4 pm.
