Morinville Out of Town

30 km (18 mi.) north of Edmonton via Hwy. 2. Morinville Historical and Cultural Centre, built in 1909, is a 100-room building containing period rooms, artifacts, The Boardroom Tea House and an art gallery. Visit the cultural centre by appointment. Free admission, 939-4361. St. Jean Baptist Church houses murals depicting the life of St. John the Baptist and a 1925 Casavant pipe organ. The original chapel was built in 1891 by Father Jean Baptist Morin, who brought the first French and German settlers to the area.
