Redwater Parks & Gardens
Sprawling near the northern banks of the Sturgeon River, approximately 10 km (6 mi) east of Redwater, the Sandhills Natural Area is one of the region's most expansive sand dune fields. An important conservation site and popular recreation area, the sand hills feature nature trails, ATV-riding areas, and drought-tolerant plant species such as jack pine, black spruce and sand heather. The Sandhills Natural Area can be reached by travelling 10 km (6 mi) east of the town of Redwater on Highway 644, then turning south on Range Road 205.
