EDMONTON
Nicknamed the City of Champions for its sports, Edmonton is also a winner when it comes to dining. The city is home to a wide variety of eateries serving everything from tender Alberta beef to flavourful tacos, spicy curry and savoury crêpès. The city's downtown core is a great area to explore, peppered with upscale restaurants, casual dining establishments and pubs and host to the annual Downtown Dining Week. Another popular dining area is Whyte Avenue, which features a lively nightlife, relaxing coffee shops and a mix of restaurants that appeal to both students and dining connoisseurs.
The massive big-box shopping area known as South Edmonton Common encompasses tons of shops and restaurants. Tired shoppers can recharge in various restaurants like the old-fashioned burger-and-milkshake joint Fat Burger and the sleek and modern Joey's Global Grill and Lounge. The world-famous West Edmonton Mall may be known for its hundreds of shops and amusements, but the mall also boasts a multitude of fast-food outlets, its very own Chinatown and the New Orleans-themed Bourbon Street lined with family-friendly restaurants and lounges such as Jungle Jim's and the Old Spaghetti Factory.
ST. ALBERT, SHERWOOD PARK & FORT SASKATCHEWAN
